Television work includes a 4-part series based on the novel "A man's estate" by Emyr Humphereys, "Myths of Britain" (a Channel 4/Bryngwyn production) and an episode of "Llygad am lugad" a drama series about 19th Century Murders. He worked on the Television Film "A mind to kill" shown in England on Channel 4 and on several episodes of "More than a newspaper" a series set in the 1960's he co-starred in a 45 minute Welsh language production called "Sgid Hwch" for Nant Films and then worked on a "Brother Cadfael" story for Central Films, and more recently in Wales on a four-part drama called "The silken Gown", a series called "Suspect".

Feature films include "Hedd Wyn" for which Huw won Best Actor Award at The Cannes Fipa Film Festival. It also won The Royal Television Society Best Single Play award, the Torgue D'Or award at the 1993 Celtic Film Festival and recently won several B.A.F.T.A awards. It was also nominated for Best Film in a Foriegn Language at the "Oscar". He appeared in O.M, a period film for TV which also had a cinema release in Wales. He also worked on Anthony Hopkins' film "August".

Theatre work includes "Yn ein dwylo" (In our Hands) a play about Lithuania - winner of a Drama Medal at the Welsh National Arts Festival last year, "Hoisting the Flag" at a festival for new plays, he worked on a Community Theatre project called "Salem ar sel" (Welsh language production), a production called "Cyfyng Gyngor", based on Pirondello's "Six Actors in search of an author", "Excelsior" by Saunders Lewis and "The Bacchaf" directed by Ceri Sherlock at the Cardiff Festival.

Huw has worked on many voice-overs and narrations for documentaries and cartoons. He has also worked for BBC radio 4 on "Heretics" in which he played the lead and on a 30 minute play called "In Cold Blood" for Radio Cymru.
